Admission and registration policies

Admission and registration policies

  1. ADMISSION POLICY

Preschool and grade 1

Every child wishing to attend our school must take part in a classification activity. This activity, generally carried out in groups, enables our staff to assess the child’s academic abilities and form groups adapted to the students’ needs.

Derogation policy

The school does not accept students with age exemptions. Admission criteria are as follows:

  • The child must be five years old before October 1 of the current year to be admitted to preschool.
  • Children must be six years old by October 1 of the current year to be admitted to the first year of primary school.

2nd grade and above

Pupils from other schools wishing to enrol from primary grade 2 onwards must undergo an in-depth study of their academic record. In addition, they must pass an entrance test in French and mathematics to be admitted. A good behavioural record is also required.

  1. ADMISSION PROCEDURES

2.1 Open day

For several years now, École internationale des Apprenants (EIA) has offered a streamlined admissions process, starting with an annual Open House. In order to adapt our service to the needs of families, EIA organizes this day on the last Thursday of November each year.

On this day, a select group of visitors is welcomed to discover our school. Our staff members take the time to give tours of the school and present the special features of our program, as well as the complementary services we offer. This is also an opportunity to answer any questions families may have.

For those unable to take part in this tour in person, a virtual tour is available. Simply visit our website at www.ecoleia.ca.

2.2 Register your child online!

The admissions portal for the next school year opens every year:

  • The last Thursday in November for preschoolers aged 5.
  • 4th Monday in December for primary schools.

Parents wishing to register their child must do so online, directly on our website at www.ecoleia.ca.

To do so, go to the school’s website:

  1. Click on the REGISTER button to create your portal account.
  2. Complete the admission form to take the test.
  3. Attach the child’s birth certificate in PDF format.
  4. Attach daycare report or child’s latest report card in PDF format.
